The global campaign to fight hunger is coming back to the Valley Football Center Friday, March 11th, 2011!
Please join us for a night of great food, art, and music as we promote sustainable food-systems and educate on food-security & nutrition.
Tickets are available at the Department of Anthropology Office, or at the door on the day of the event.
$5 - $20 Sliding Scale (Children under 5 are free)
All proceeds benefit two organizations: World of Good and the OSU Emergency Food Pantry (one local, one global).
Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger, personalized on a community level. The concept for "Empty Bowls" is simple. Participating artists create and donate ceramic bowls, then serve a simple meal. Guests choose a bowl to use that day and to keep as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. In exchange for the meal, and the bowl, guests give a suggested minimum donation. The meal's proceeds are given to local hunger-fighting organizations, such as food banks or soup kitchens, or to national or international charitable groups.
Empty Bowls events can be sponsored by local potters and artists organizations, churches, community service organizations and schools.
If you are a local artist, and wish to help us by donating bowls to the project, or you simply would like more information about the event, please CONTACT US SOON!
